Homework—Must Do
  • 30 minutes of reading (silent or partner) at least 3 times per week
  • 10 minutes of basic fact work (times tables!) at least 3 times per week
  • lack of knowledge of basic facts is slowing down progress in fractions and ratios for many students—please ensure that your child is adhering to the schedule above

This week:
  • Tuesday is Spring Picture Day. We will be taking our class photo. 
  • Wednesday is Safety Expo. We will be downtown with 1500 other 5/6 students to learn about all the things we can do to keep ourselves safe. Please dress appropriately for the weather, and ensure that you have a good lunch with lots of snacks, as well as a water bottle.  
  • We will have Zones of Regulation on Thursday. It is our last session with Matthew Miller. 
  • We will be watching the film adaptation of Lost in the Barrens and beginning a project looking at the book and film versions. 

Next week:
  • Student-Led Conferences will take place on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm, and on Friday from 8 am to 12 pm. This is not a sit-down conference—students must be present to show their learning to their parents/guardians.
